Iran is ready to restart atomic negotiations with Washington provided that it is approached with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

Abbas Araghchi said only diplomacy was effective, and disclosed fresh requests had originated from go-betweens to restart negotiations with the US government. He asserted Iran did not have undeclared nuclear sites, and Iran could not yet allow the global atomic watchdog to inspect attacked atomic facilities for security reasons.

Navigating a Complex Route

The foreign minister is treading a challenging course since Iran aims to avoid be seen to be operating from a situation of disadvantage, and he emphatically stated that Iran had emerged more powerful in military terms and psychologically from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an inalienable right to process nuclear material domestically that it will perpetually retain" – the key factor of the deadlock in the previous talks.

Prior Talks Unexpectedly Terminated

The prior phases of discussions between the US and Iran were ended suddenly and bitter termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, targeted Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with Donald Trump asserting the locations had been eliminated. Afterward, EU nations used their authority to restore international penalties, but Iran insists they have not had a significant effect.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Iranian officials claimed they felt they had achieved a "perfect agreement" to the nuclear fuel concern in prior discussions, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with American involvement could process nuclear material. The two nations would have been able to claim victory since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been agreed in the discussions that American atomic experts could work within Iranian territory, but that was a logical implication of the consortium proposal. Officials claimed three times they had reached agreement with Washington's diplomat the US official only for the deal to disintegrate due to "spoilers in Washington".

Present Status

Iran's diplomats stated the partnership proposal was now off the table, but it seems very probable the suggestion could be resurrected in some form if negotiations reopen.

The US president last week claimed he had been obtaining communications that Iran wanted to resume discussions, but in private Iran's diplomats claim they are not yet getting clear proposals from the United States either directly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as the Qatari government, Egypt, the Omani authorities and the Saudi kingdom. The Tehran's diplomatic corps has been accused of passivity in the aftermath of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran states diplomacy is not part of a performance.

Diplomatic Position

In his speech to the gathering, intended to paint the US as a dominant force that exploits the idea of worldwide standards, Araghchi stated the two-week conflict demonstrated the conflict could not be resolved by armed force. He asserted the assaults commenced with a US demand for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an unconditional call for a truce.

Iran is assured the first strikes by Israel were executed with full US knowledge and collaboration, making confidence hard to restore.

Dialogue Remains the Final Solution

Araghchi said: "It was not Iran that had abandoned diplomacy; it was the United States and the European states that had always attempted to dictate their desires during the discussions. Negotiations can still be viable and stays the primary answer to settle conflicts, but its requirements, regulations and principles must be followed."

"If they talk to the nation of Iran with the language of respect and respect, they will obtain a response in the equivalent language."

Recovery and Rebuilding

In what is portrayed by Iran's diplomats as the battle of restoration and rebuilding, Araghchi claimed he was assured Iran's security strengths "have significantly improved than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been restored. We gained multiple understandings from this war; we have come to know our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of the enemy."

He stated: "We effectively endured this engagement. Our nuclear technology, which they intended to destroy, stays intact. The installations and machinery, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is crucial is the will of the Iranian people and then the national cohesion that they sought to undermine, but did not succeed to shatter. The citizens of Tehran have grown more powerful, more cohesive, and more endorsing of the administration and the nation in the face of this assault."
